Alice and Olivia are easily one of my top 5 favorite designers - there's really nothing of theirs that I wouldn't wear.  Especially that black leather bustier gown in the 2nd photo - it makes me wish I had an event to attend just so that I'd have an excuse to buy it.

Leftovers

As I mentioned before, I've been on a bit of a baking streak.  With my leftover frosting from my pumpkin cupcakes I decided to get creative and attempt some carrot cookie whoopie pies.  I somewhat limited myself ingredient-wise because I was too lazy to leave my apartment for groceries, so I chose this cookie recipe based on what I had in the house.  They ended up a little drier that I'd hoped but still had great flavor.  If I was to re-do these, I would opt for a recipe with more moisture.

I've been coveting these sunglasses for some time - it seems as though every blogger/fashion icon I love has them and they look great on everyone.  After receiving a raise this morning at work, maybe it's high time to treat myself?

Experimenting

So I’ve never been very into baking.  In fact, I kind of hate it.  It doesn’t allow for much wiggle room or random decision making – which is what I love so much about cooking.  However, for some unknown reason, I’ve been super into it lately.  Above is my latest creation – Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.  They were a huge hit with the birthday boy.

They were fairly simple – I used Trader Joe’s “Pumpkin Bread and Muffin Mix” so they weren’t completely homemade.  I’m seriously considering investing in a mixer, though, because my hand is screaming today.

I have quite a bit of leftover frosting so we’ll see what I decide to do with it tonight.
